Amber Fort and Palace- Rajasthan, India
Rajasthan is a Royal state of India famous for its Forts and Palaces.
During my visit to India I have been visiting Rajasthan and it's different cities. There's a lot to share about these incredible places I visit but a single blog won't be enough to talk about the beauty and historical Importance. This time I will take you to one of the most famous visited Historical Forts AMBER FORT which is close to Jaipur city of Rajasthan.
Amber palace known as Amer Fort is one of the best tourist destinations not just in Jaipur City but the whole of Rajasthan and attracts many tourists every year.
Amer Fort or Amber Fort in Amer is a town located 11 kilometres from Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. The Fort is located on a good height on a hill which makes it one of the popular Fort of attractions in Rajasthan. The Fort was Built by one of the most trusted generals of Akbar, Maharaja Man Singh I in the year 1592 and served as the main residence of the Rajput Rulers.
The Amber Fort overlooks Maota Lake, which enhances the beauty to the entire Fort and is also the main source of water for the Amer Palace.
Beautifully built with red sandstone and marble Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements such as the large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, The Amer Fort has influences of both Hindu and Muslim architecture. The architecture of the Palace is stunning with magnificent artwork and craftsmanship. Amber Fort and Palace is a real beauty and is on the Must Visit list of tourists.
This Fort also has the 'Shila Devi' Temple and the 'Ganesh Pol' which is a gate that leads to the private palaces of the kings.
Getting an elephant ride to the Amber Fort is a very popular tourist activity. I too didn't want to miss this opportunity. So was ready with my next plan of the traditional Elephant ride to the fort . It was indeed wonderful with amazing views but this being my first time I was trying hard to enjoy the view riding because I was more focused on having a proper balance. Trust me you will enjoy the spectacular Elephant ride with its brilliant amazing views.
The fort is big enough and will take you at least two to three hours to explore it in detail. You can also choose to have the option of the audio guides while you explore the place explaining the history of the Fort.
The Sound and Light show can also be enjoyed if you wish to know the history available in Hindi and English.
HOW TO REACH
You can reach Fort by bus or hire a cab which is easily available in the city of Jaipur.
TIMINGS & COST
The Amber Fort is opened for visitation from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
The entrance Fees of a ticket for Amber Fort is INR 200 per person for indian and INR 500 per person for a foreign tourist.
The cost of Elephant ride is
INR 1350 per elephant and only two can share one elephant.

I had a great time visiting this magnificent Palace and had to go back to Samode Haveli. If you are looking to stay close to Amber Fort the nearest hotel is Trident which is approx 2 miles from the Fort.
